British designer, Bethany Williams founded her menswear brand in 2017. Believing that social and environmental issues go hand in hand and through exploring the connection between these issues, Bethany finds innovative design solutions to sustainability. Williams’ aim is not just to comment on a community but work in their social spaces to create change through furthering economic gain for charity. By using social capital, intellectual and labour-intensive skills, she aims to create a profit which will be given to connected charities, continuing the cycle of exchange. Through collaboration with communities and charities Bethany creates collections embedded with real stories and hopes to have a positive impact in the social space we engage with. Each garment is 100% sustainable and made in the UK, even down to the buttons which are hand crafted in the Lake District from collaborators’ own planting of trees. Bethany Williams provides an alternative system for fashion production, as she believes fashion’s reflection upon the world can create positive change. In 2019 the brand was recipient to the Queen Elizabeth II Award for Design. Bethany Williams is stocked in stores including Galleries Lafayette, Nid Store and Odd.
